Persona Non Grata: The Story of Chiune Sugihara

Based on the true story of Chiune Sugihara, known as the Schindler of Japan, this film recounts the life story of a Japanese diplomat in Lithuania who issued
more than 2,000 visas to Jewish refugees. His decision to go against his countrys policies saved more than 6,000 lives. The film follows his early life in Manchuria
to his eventual posting in Kaunas, Lithuania.

After the screening of Persona Non Grata,  join us for a Q&A with the Director, Cellin Gluck and Daughter of a Sugihara Survivor, .Debby Graudenz.

Director Cellin Gluck is of Japanese and Jewish descent. He grew up in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan and is based in Los Angeles. He specializes inproducing and directing U.S.-Japan co-productions. He also works as anassistant director on Hollywood productions, such as Michael Bay’s Transformers. In 2009, he made his debut as a film director with Sideways. Persona Non Grata is his second feature film and was a box-office hit in Japan. 

Debby Graudenz, daughter of a Sugihara survivor.  She will bring her suitcase with her father's signed papers from Sugihara and other items.
